National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Set to Induct It's 19th Class August 10th

The National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame will present its 19th Annual Class Induction Ceremony on Saturday, August 10th on the grounds of the King Family's Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. For the first time since it's opening, a luncheon along with the ceremony will be conducted at the Hall of Fame building’s patio annex which is situated just outside of the turn 4 fence at the historic facility. Seating is limited but lawn chairs will be welcomed for the ceremony.

During the induction five drivers and three contributors will receive honors and be welcomed into the Hall of Fame. Also, three members of the industry will be recognized with Lifetime Achievement awards which will also be presented during the ceremony. This year's class members are drivers: Wayne Brooks of Arkansas; Georgian Stan Massey; Alabama's Billy Thomas along with a pair of Illinois racers in Lil' John Provenzano and Kevin Weaver. The contributing group consists of Kentuckian Jack Cornett of Cornett Racing Engines; Arkansas racing promoter Mooney Starr and late Iowa race promoter Keith Knaack. Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented to drivers Ronny Adams from Texas, Ohioan Art Ball, and driver and contributor Mike Bechelli from Indiana.

Several exciting things are happening during this year's induction weekend. The always popular NDLMHoF Memorabilia Auction will be held at the facility at the conclusion of the Induction Ceremony at approximately 3:30 PM. A number of the sport's top competitors such as Scott Bloomquist, Billy Moyer, Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Sheppard and many others have generously donated items such as door panels, uniforms, helmets, gloves and other pieces of memorabilia to be auctioned off. Several industry companies have donated items such as racing parts, magazine and website subscriptions and race tickets which will also be auctioned off. All proceeds go to the HoF.

After extensive efforts and for the first time ever the North-South 100 will have a 50-50 raffle inside the gates of the facility. The 50-50 sales will take place all 3 days of the North-South weekend. Tickets are $1.00 each and will be available from roaming sellers as well as several locations around the facility. The staff of the Hall of Fame will also be selling raffle tickets for a brand-new Textron Off Road 4-Passenger Prowler EV. This 72-volt electric vehicle is a full-time 4wd ATV which has a 1000 lbs. towing capacity and has an MSRP of $10,499. Tickets are $10 each. The drawing for the Prowler will be at the 2020 North-South 100.

Return visitors will be met with many changes and upgrades to the current Hall of Fame building. Much of the building has been completely revamped and modernized. Be sure to check out all of the new additions to your National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame. As always these activities are held in conjunction with the annual running of the Lucas Oil sanctioned Sunoco Race Fuels North-South 100 weekend which runs from Thursday through Saturday evening at the Kentucky oval.
